Six Russian Volunteers Arrived to Earth
Russian Institute of Medical and Biological Problems has finished a short-term experiment, simulating manned flight to Mars. The experiment is held within the international programme “Mars-500”. First stage lasted for two weeks, during which six Russian volunteers have spent in total isolation from the environment.
Among volunteers there were five men, two cosmonauts, two engineers and a doctor, and one woman – a biologist. First stage of the experiment was aimed at testing compliance of technical and operating characteristics of modules and their systems under conditions of “almost real” operation to requirements of technical and in-line documents.
All “cosmonauts” feel well and are happy to be pioneers in an experiment, very important for the whole mankind. “Crewmembers” are now examined by doctors.
